SOMETHING IS MISSING FROM MY VEHICLE

Written by crizlai on Sep 21st, 2009 | Filed under: accessories, accidents, automobile

Having a truck for business would be real useful in time of moving and transferring products which towards the end of the day would generate additional income and save on unnecessary freight charges. But how many of us realized that there are also some cons when possessing such trucks? Accidents do happen but it does not always have to be the carelessness of the truckers. Sometimes, it could be due to the lack of awareness to install quality truck accessories that would be safe for everyone.

Do you know that about 25 percent of accidents happened when a driver is backing up a vehicle? Thus, most of the time it’s either a person would be hurt seriously or their vehicles get damaged heavily. That’s an alarming percentage as some vehicles might not have installed certain accessories such as rear mirror or motion sensor detector to their vehicles.

If you are a responsible driver, careless accidents as mentioned above would not occur. Proper maintenance such as daily inspection of tire pressure and condition, brake and all other fluids, lights and signal lights as well as making sure that clean windshields and mirrors are just as important. There is no point purchasing inferior accessories as they might just come off easily in times of emergencies, thus obstructing the view of the driver. Saving a few pennies off an item might not always pay off. Try to get your truck accessories from reputable shops instead.

THE IMPORTANCE OF INSURANCE

Written by crizlai on Sep 7th, 2009 | Filed under: accidents, automobile, awareness, insurance, life, rant, tips

I still could not believe why there are still so many people in this present technologically equipped world are still having the phobia of being approached by an insurance agent. The word “insurance” does not necessary has to be related to the “D” word where a life would be at stake. It could just as well be for other areas pertaining to natural calamities or man-made damages or losses like fire, flood, earthquake, theft etc. It is a good financial plan that seemed to be overlooked by many people until they have faced head on with the tragedy loss of a loved one or even the inadequate insurance coverage they have on their assets.

Most people would just stay in the comfort zone, having the wrong perception that they or their loved ones would not meet with any accidents. Eventually, in most cases, it was too late to turn back the clock. What’s the reason for procrastinating while you know exactly that having the right insurance premium would ease yours or your immediate family’s financial burden in time of unexpected situations? Having not enough time, money or delaying the immediate action to get one covered are some of the lamest excuses and failures in a person’s life decision making. The future is just as important as the present.

Auto insurance would probably get the most attention as it would be a “must-have” insurance coverage while owning a vehicle but getting the right insurance agency does matter too. There are so many auto insurance quotes out there for you to choose from but you have to be wary of the terms and conditions it has to expedite claims. Moreover, please choose carefully a reputable agency to handle all your insurance needs as well as one with higher deductibles on your premiums. Won’t that be great to save a bit more on your yearly expenses?

I AM GOING CAMPING SOON!

RVCAMPING

I’m going camping for sure but not by the beach or by the mountain anywhere within my home country but in Miami in the southeastern state of Florida. You would be asking what the heck I’m doing in Miami where it’s the seventh largest metro area in the United States. Am I really going to camp by setting up my tent in such a large city? Well, Miami is the only major city in the United States bordered by two national parks, Everglades National Park on the west and Biscayne National Park on the east. Surrounding these two parks are tens of great camping sites, of which some might be privately owned.

Even with the easily available parks, you would still expect me to really set up my tent and camp overnight? Of course I’m not going to miss out my vacation by doing that. It would surely be a more relax and luxurious camping style by mode of my rented recreational vehicle. At least I have the least of worries on gathering dry fire woods for my cooking and also where to ease myself during nature’s call. Moreover, I still have a comfortable and clean bed to sleep on without worrying about the invasion of bugs.

Gosh! I’m really spoilt! Gone were the days of my childhood camping where I have to work hard to ensure a pleasant camping days. Now with rv camping, everything has been so easy. Technology and modernization sure changed our lifestyle a lot.

TIME TO RENEW MY AUTO INSURANCE

Written by crizlai on Dec 10th, 2008 | Filed under: automobile, insurance, life, rant

Nowadays the prices of consumable items had hiked up so drastically that it had burnt a deep hole in my pocket. With the normal household expenditure budget previously, I could hardly get many things to stock up in my fridge. I guessed I would have to tie up my waist more and get myself to eat less. But then, how could I do that as a food blogger? It’s not that I eat to live but rather live to eat. Haha!

I must find alternate ways to stretch that budget of mine. Moreover, my cats would also need to eat too, although the price for their cat food had also increased tremendously over the pass few weeks. Hmm… What else could I save then? Should I control my phone calls to save some on the bills? Should I minimize my internet usage or off with some lights to cut down the electricity usage?

Oops! I just remembered that the year end is coming and my auto insurance is about to expire. Here I am trying to find ways to cut down on my expenses and there it is another bill popping up that needed my immediate attention. Moreover I heard that there’s a huge percentage increase in insurance premiums for vehicles over a certain of years. This is giving me such a headache as I would really need cheap auto insurance now.

GETTING THE MUCH NEEDED COOL AIR

Written by crizlai on Jun 28th, 2008 | Filed under: air conditioning, automobile, life, product, rant

The weather has been humid over here with a 74% humidity and barely 1mph of wind. How could I have withstood such a high temperature in this country? Everyone has been cursing and rinsing off their nonstop flow of sweat from the forehead. The traffic jams over has not been any better too.

I think it is time to check the air conditioning system for my car. Even tuned to full blast, I am still sweating. Something is surely not right about the cooling system. I will need to get one that can control the filtration, air movement, temperature and humidity in my car and not one that ended up like a heater.

I have a problem here as I know nuts about the car’s air conditioning system. What could be wrong? There are just so many parts ranging from the a/c compressor, a/c receiver drier, a/c expansion device, a/c condenser and so on for me to identify. Hmm… who is the a/c compressor expert here? I have a feeling that this part might be the culprit.
