ELECTRIFYING EXPERIENCE WITH H-ARTISTRY 2014 AT SPICE PENANG

Just like last year, the H-Artistry 2014 rocked more than 2000 Penangites at SPICE (Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition Centre) formerly known as PISA (Penang International Sports Arena) on 17 May 2014 from 7.00pm until 1.00am. Party revelers were treated to a spectacular mix of stellar acts from across the globe from the East and West, namely Australia, Taiwan and Malaysia with an eclectic mix of pop, EDM, and electro house beats. Again, this year’s event was another epic super-clubbing experience for all.

This year’s H-Artistry had the guests dressed up in hues of red and black, turning the whole party arena into a sea of lively individuals filled with excitement, energy and strength. We were again greeted by the host, Julie Woon, an experienced emcee for all the H-Artistry events. This year’s stage set-up was amazing with towering H-Artistry LED backdrops. The energy in the main arena peaked as the opening sequence featured an electrifying laser show, striking LED visuals and a build-up of energy and excitement from the crowd that definitely shook the arena.

As the room faded to black, individual lights lit to reveal Paperplane Pursuit who serenaded the crowd with their hits such as “Everybody Wants Somebody” and “Higher”. The Malaysian pop sensation wooed the crowd as they joined in to echo the lyrics of each song.

Suddenly, there was an unscheduled surprise for the crowd as the H-Project DJ’s joined the pop trio to deliver an up-tempo collaboration on “Beats of Your Love”. That’s got the crowds’ party mood boasted. The H-Project DJ’s continued to deliver an epic fist-pumping set, resulting in fist-pumping movements and screams of excitement from the crowd. The energetic experience was only to be topped off with a reveal of the duo behind the decks – with the reveal leading to the introduction of DJ Ernest C, and DJ Reeve to the enthusiastic crowd.

The crowd went wild into more excitements when Taiwan’s EDM/mando pop band, Magic Power took over the stage, delivering a multi-genre musical journey like no other. The energetic Taiwan based band featured hit tracks such as “Never Play by the Rules” and “Super Hero”.

Magic Power had a surprise collaboration with Paperplane Pursuit by having a duet on “Love The Way You Lie” (originally by Eminem). I’m sorry I could not get the best audio here but you can see in the video below that they did a great job during the night. It was obvious that their performance was a hit as fans whole heartedly declared their love for the all male assemble in the form of excited cheers.

As the cheers grew louder, the Australian queen of big room-beats, DJ Brooklyn, took over the deck and made her presence obvious as she dropped beats and tunes that got the whole arena pumping.

With energies soaring across the roof, the crowd gave a warm Malaysian welcome to the electro house trio, Imma*Bleep*YouUp and their warm welcome was well received as the trio responded with waves of EDM drops, accompanied by stunning laser projections, which definitely delivered Penangites with nothing short of an epic super-clubbing experience.

H-Artistry Penang 2014 at SPICE was truly a night of musical artistry, paired with a sensational experience befitting of an epic first H-Artistry series of epic super-clubbing parties for 2014. As always, H-Artistry-The Global Art of Mixing, strongly advocates responsible drinking and works towards ensuring the safety of each and every guest at the event. Amongst the safety and security measures implemented at the H-Artistry Penang 2014 were taxi chauffeuring to and fro with subsidized taxi fares, endless reminders to party revelers to be responsible, chill-out zones with complimentary mineral water, availability of F&B vendors and medical personnel in case of needs.

Prior to the night’s event, some of us also had a meet & greet session with the artistes. They were indeed a bunch of down-to-earth people who were willing to share their experiences as well as future dreams with the invited guests and media.

THE ARTISTES LINE UPS OF H-ARTISTRY 2014 AT SPICE PENANG

Magic Power: Hailing from Taiwan, this multi-genre MandoPop band brings a fresh and new style of music through their fusion of rock, hip-hop and EDM beats. Hailed as MandoPop’s number 1 EDM band, the boys from Magic Power have been taking over airwaves and hearts all around the world with hits such as “Gan Jue Fan” and “Tian Ji”. Put on your dancing shoes and get ready for an experience like no other with Magic Power at H-Artistry Penang 2014.

DJ Brooklyn: Hailing from the land down under, Gold Coast’s DJ Brooklyn was introduced to the stage at a very young age and has not looked back ever since. Inspired by Havana Brown’s performance style, DJ Brooklyn is famous for her big-room tunes and will definitely send the H-Artistry Penang 2014 dance floor into a fist pumping, body rocking frenzy with her infectious energetic personality.

Imma*Bleep*YouUp (IMBYU): IMBYU is one of Malaysia’s very own group of house music heroes – consisting of Mr Fluff, Addic3rd and UnkleJaymz. Heavily influenced by Alesso, Avicii, Dada Life, and Tommy Trash, the big room style of IMBYU will definitely bring the house down at H-Artistry Penang 2014.

Paperplane Pursuit: Serenading the world with their pop-inspired beats and songs, Paperplane Pursuit is currently one of the hottest bands on Malaysian airwaves. Having released their first single and mini album in 2009, which was featured on MTV Asia, the trio have since released numerous hit singles such as ‘Everybody Wants Somebody’, ‘What If’ and ‘Beats of Your Love’. Get ready to be serenaded by one of Malaysia’s best pop bands at this year’s H-Artistry Penang 2014.

This year, H-Artistry returns with an even elevated experience revolving around H-Artistry’s trademark epic super-clubbing scenes – delivering an unmatched, premium super-club experience through the Global Art of Mixing platform. Party revelers can expect to be treated to a sensational mix of sight, sound and taste this coming 17 May 2014 from 7.00pm until 1.00am at the same venue. THE BIGGEST H-ARTISTRY PARTY HAD HIT PENANG

Penang had its biggest party recently when H-Artistry set out with its clear goal to deliver an unmatched, premium super-club experience through the Global Art of Mixing platform which promised a phenomenal mix of sights, tastes and sounds on 25 May 2013 at the newly refurbished SPICE (Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition Centre) formerly known as PISA (Penang International Sports Arena).

As an added bonus, this year’s no-frills super-club experience had the staple Hennessy Mixing Bars scattered all over the party venue with its much appreciated signature Hennessy V.S.O.P long drinks – Hennessy Apple, Hennessy Berry, Hennessy Ginger and Hennessy Soda.

The entrance was grand with the invited guest deejays walking down the red carpet accompanied by the acclaimed Emcee Julie Woon. Amongst them were the notable Australian DJ, DJ Andy Murphy, Singapore’s DJ Nicole Chen and Hong Kong’s 24HERBS (???).

Asquared’s set of nu disco and progressive trance kept party goers in the groove as everyone eagerly waited for the main party arena to open. In the meantime, guests kept busy by capturing their “Hennessy Moments” at the “Fotobox” booths, which printed out their photos and uploaded them on Facebook as mementos of H-Artistry.

Come 9.00pm, the beautiful Emcee Julie Woon welcomed the crowd into the main party arena where the towering LED backdrop of the stunning H-Artistry stage counted down to the start of the show. The countdown culminated with an electrifying laser show and striking LED visuals, which kicked off the night’s performances. Enter 24HERBS, who surprised party goers by taking the stage from amongst the crowd. The Hong Kong hip hop outfit was bursting with energy, drawing the crowd in with their infectious stage presence as they demonstrated the credibility of Canto hip hop.

Their performance included hit tracks like “Do You Know Me”, “Fashionista” as well as “Wonderland”, which featured Astro Star Quest champion Alexis Chean in the first H-Artistry collaboration of the night.

24HERBS, anchored by SIR JBS, LMF legends Phat and Kit, took an intermission to greet the H-Artistry crowd and threw out 24HERBS Snapbacks into a rousing audience. A cheeky performance of the hit “Hu Ge” brought their performance to an end, which marked the beginning of the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) journey for the rest of the H-Artistry evening.

With the dimming of stage lights, Dennis Lau – clad in a laser-projecting jacket – took the stage with his electric violin, bringing the crowd to an all-new high as he started off with a violin introduction of Swedish House Mafia’s hit “Don’t You Worry Child”. Australian DJ and Producer Andy Murphy took the decks, bringing the prelude to its peak before Alexis Chean took the stage once again to belt out the vocals of the popular dance anthem.

Andy Murphy went on to administer an astounding set of EDM and Big Room tunes for the next hour, firmly setting the momentum of the night with pulsating beats and fist-pumping drops.

Taking over from Andy was Singapore’s biggest female DJ export Nicole Chen, who brought her popular style ofElectro House and Dirty Dutch onto the H-Artistry stage. Both DJs’ sets, bolstered in intervals by a gorgeous dance crew and breathtaking laser projections, shot the energy levels through the roof at H-Artistry as party goers danced through the night with glasses of Hennessy V.S.O.P in hand.

H-Artistry, The Global Art of Mixing at SPICE Penangturned out to be a night that delivered a sensational mix of sight, sound and taste in one party. Since its inception in 2008, H-Artistry set out with one clear goal – to deliver an unmatched, premium super-club experience through the Global Art of Mixing platform, which promises a phenomenal mix of sights, tastes and sounds at each H-Artistry party. This year, H-Artistry returns with a never-before-seen set up with the party starting as soon as revelers step into the enclave. The first of two H-Artistry events planned for 2013 will be taking over the Penang Island this 25 May 2013 at the newly refurbished SPICE (Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition Centre) formerly known as PISA (Penang International Sports Arena).

This year’s no-frills super-club experience will be bolstered by the staple Hennessy Mixing Bars, which will serve the four trailblazers of all H-Artistry events – the signature Hennessy V.S.O.P long drinks: Hennessy Apple, Hennessy Berry, Hennessy Ginger and Hennessy Soda.

The H-Artistry stage will see a line-up of exciting local, regional and international acts, which will treat Penang revelers to a stellar mix of music styles and genres all through the night. The opening act would be administered by one of Kuala Lumpur’s most promising indie/electronic acts – Alex Asquared (one part of Deer Society), while 3 other mains acts would be by Australian DJ, DJ Andy Murphy, who is no stranger to stages of international dance music festivals, Singapore’s DJ Nicole Chen, one of the most prominent DJ personalities in Singapore, known for her energetic and electrifying up-tempo electro-house/dirty-dutch sets and Hong Kong’s 24HERBS (???), a six piece collective of dynamic and progressive individuals, who make up one of the edgiest and most energetic hip hop groups of recent times in Chinese entertainment.

With all the effort put in to make H-Artistry a spectacular show, responsible partying is one clear message that is communicated at every H-Artistry party. Naturally, it would be a waste to forget an amazing H-Artistry experience. To avoid that, H-Artistry ensures partygoers have access to all that is necessary to maintain a great party, with safety and wellbeing as utmost priority. Responsible drinking at the event is also encouraged through several measures. A coupon system comes into play to limit the redemption of Hennessy V.S.O.P long drinks at the Hennessy Mixing Bars come midnight, while complimentary mineral water bottles are also given out throughout the night at every H-Artistry event. All these initiatives, among others, will be continued and further improved at both H-Artistry parties planned for 2013.
