OBESEBUTT

If you have read the latest report on obesity right within US itself, you would get a scare out of your life. Can you imagine that 58 millions of Americans are overweight with 40 million of them being obese and 3 millions are morbidly obese? Since 1990, there has been a 76% increase of Type II diabetes cases, mostly in adults within the range of 30-40 years old.

To avoid those obese related diseases such as Type II diabetes, cardio vascular diseases, breast cancer, colon cancer, gall bladder or even high blood pressure, one should take note of the body weight not only on yourself but also on your children’s as new study had found that one in four overweight children has shown early signs of diabetes impaired glucose intolerance which is related to Type II diabetes. Most of them stood a high risk of getting heart related diseases. Within the last two decades, the numbers of overweight and obese children worldwide had increased four fold and it would climb dramatically by 2010. If you are a pair of loving parents with high hope for your children’s future clean health, do give them balance diets during each meal.

Through my years of observing families with obese children, it’s almost always the case of leadership by example. If you are not concern about your own weight issues, you would not even heed the future health of your children. Some families even thought that having fat, chubby, overweight children would show their status of prosperity. What a wrong perception. Those children stood a high risk of being stunned by critical diseases in the later stage of their lives!

There are many diet programs out there to help you to maintain a healthier lifestyle. Some may even use diet pill for a swifter effect. It all lies on your effort and determination to step forward now for a healthier living.

LAVISH MEALS VERSUS DIETING

What would you do when are on a diet and you have a forth coming festive season where you would be having a lot of dinners and parties? Would you just sit down there and watch all the delicious food being passed around the table or would you jump in the fun and worry about getting fatter by the end of the celebration? I’m sure you would not miss your Mum’s favorite cooking such as the Lamb Shank nor would you want to miss out her Double Chocolate Cheese Moist Cake.

This is the common question posed by most people on strict diet. To me, it all lies in the controlling power of a person. There’s never a right or a wrong answer to whether a person can consume this dish or that dish. It should be a well balanced and complete diet. A meatless and sugarless diet may not be the ideal choice as it would drain your body of the energy to perform well in your daily activities.

You could still go for your Mum’s home cook food but then you might want to consider reducing the intake of some of the other fatty dishes or sugar rich beverages such as BBQ bacon or Iced Honey Cappuccino. After all, how many times a year would you get to enjoy your Mum’s home cook food when you are already having a family of your own elsewhere?

It’s all within your will power to be self disciplined. If you are having 15 minutes of exercises daily, then go for an extra 10-15 minutes for the next few days. That would help to reduce the weight you have gained. Just make sure that you do not skip the fat burning and diet pill you are on during your eating spree.

WHAT SHOULD BE YOUR IDEAL WEIGHT?

BMI or Body Mass Index as many had known is basically a term used by many physicians and researchers in measuring obesity. It uses a mathematical formula that takes into account both a person’s height and weight. The formula is rather simple as BMI equals a person’s weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared. (BMI=kg/m2).

Obesity is a serious health hazard, having the risks of a number of grave medical conditions such as heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, gallbladder disease and gallstones, osteoarthritis, gout, sleep apnea and asthma. An obese person would normally have one or more of hidden dangers such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol level, inability to control blood sugar and many more. These dangers may lead to a person’s sudden death without much symptoms or signs.

Moreover, the extra weight of an obese person would exert additional pressures on both their knee, hip and lower back joints and thus slowly wear away their protective cartilage resulting in osteoarthritis. They would have a higher risk in developing gout. Snoring heavily and irregular breathing during sleep are part of sleep apnea, which would cause an obese person to be in fatigue and sleepy most of the time. As a result, many heart related diseases would occur.

Just refer to the chart shown below your height. Use a ruler to draw a horizontal line for your weight and a vertical line for your height. Check out which category you fall into. Are you in the underweight, normal, overweight or obese section? Anyone from the overweight and obese section should seriously consider looking into their health issues. You should get some weight off that body of yours by modes of eating healthy, do more exercises or get some diet pills. Please do it not only for yourself but for the concerns of your loved ones.

THINK ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONES

Who would be the most important members in your life other than your own family? The answer is none. Most of the loves you had received and given were within your own family members. If there were any unforeseen misfortune, what would become of your family members if you were the sole bread earner? You won’t want to see them suffer for the rest of their lives without any compensation right?

It has become quite a norm for many people to steer away when someone approached them for some insurance coverage. I would understand if the person is fully insured and does not require more policies. What about a big majority of those who had just came into the working world? Did they know that the earlier age they get themselves some insurance policies, the lesser the premium is?

Here is a case scenario of a person who kept postponing his buying of a life insurance even after he got married. After a year or so, he finally had a child. Although his business had blossomed, he still refused to be committed, thinking that whatever he had earned through his working life would be sufficient for the welfare of his unemployed wife and child. Eventually, the economy crisis struck unexpectedly and business was not doing so well. He was struggling to maintain his monthly family expenses. Before the child even reached the age of 4 years old, he was struck with a terminal illness and eventually passed away. There were nothing much left to help his family pull through with life, except a skeleton company and a mortgage house. What a pity case!

What I do not understand here is why most people prefer to look at short term profits rather than looking at long term financial planning which could benefit everybody within the family. There are so many types of term life insurance rates that would be available to suit everybody’s budget. Moreover, you can upgrade your policies anytime to a higher coverage when you have met your financial stability. Would you not think about the benefits your loved ones would gain by you making the wise move to be insured right now?

TO EAT OR TO GO ON DIET?

What would you do if you are forced to attend your best friend’s birthday party when you are on a diet? There would surely be lots of food served but would you dare to break the rules of dieting? Don’t tell me you are really planning to bring some cucumbers and carrots to munch when there would be a wide spread of juicy steaks, delicious stuffed BBQ chicken, creamy rich double chocolate cheese cake and so on being displayed right in front of your eyes?

I had that dreadful experience just a few days back as I have to reduce 20lbs for some health reasons. My friend who underwent the same program as I did freaked out. He could not resist the temptation from all the delicious food on the table. I tried to resist with all my effort but in the end I was defeated. Well, if you can’t fight the crowd, join them. LOL!

In my mind, I was thinking that just a few bites for that day won’t really affect my weight problem. I was so wrong. From one tiny bite on the juicy steak, I ended up with plates after plates of all the fatty meat available at the party, not forgetting a triple helping of that delicious cheese cake. Before I realize it, I had already stuffed myself to the fullest.

I thought I could just get away with what I did that night but the more I thought about it the more food I gobble down my tummy. I ended up gaining 10lbs with acnes popping out on my face now. I almost gave up on the diet program but I felt guilty breaking the rules when I’m supposed to be a well self-discipline person. I guessed I better hunt around for the best diet pill to reduce some weight fast before my next appointment with my doctor.  He would surely scream looking at my size now.
