THE SIGNS OF OLD AGE

Written by crizlai on Jul 26th, 2009 | Filed under: life, lifestyle, rant, wrinkle

OLDAGE

You felt your whole body is like tearing apart with squeaking sound here and there, as if it’s a worn out machine. Every part that works in your body hurts and those that don’t are practically useless. The next thing you would realize would be you consuming more pills than food. Your mind may want to do something but normally your body won’t cooperate. They don’t calibrate with each other well.

You thought you can still enjoy life by the beach as you would when you were twenty years old but the rays from the sun kept making your bifocal lens hurt your eyes. You used to bring your girlfriends to the beach to have a great time. Now it’s not your children but your grand children. That’s another sign of old age.

It’s really frustrating when you know all the answers such as how to stay healthy at such an age, what’s the best diet around or even ways to get the best wrinkle cream to make you look years younger but nobody bothers to ask you the questions. Time may be a great healer but it also had the reputation of being a lousy beautician. Unless you know how to turn back time or know what’s the best necessities for your age, it’s just another dull boring day in your life. I don’t think that would be what most of us would want in life. We should be having the best in our life even though we have time to fight with.

IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A GAZEBO

GAZEBO

It has been known that some homeowners have been under some sort of dilemma as what to do with the dull space they have in their garden. To fill the large place up with lots of plants might not be practical after all as it would involve a great deal of care with lots of sweeping, watering and maintenance. With a bit of sentimental touch by mixing and matching some tiles and constructing certain structures such as a swimming pool and/or a gazebo, things might be a bit more relaxing and interesting. This move would provide easy maintenance and it also literally gives your garden an additional “outdoor room”.

Gazebos are among the prettiest additions you will ever make to your landscape. With careful planning, tasteful design, well placed furniture and potted plants, your dull looking garden would be instantly transformed into your little sanctuary, giving you the best time of your life. Not only would your peak-quality western red cedar gazebo beautify your garden, it would be the ideal place for some relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of your office life.

There are so many styles of gazebos to choose from, ranging from Victorian, Monterey, Carlisle, Tattle Creek, San Cristobal, Coventry or even Montpellier. I personally prefer the Montpellier design due to the frequent hot weather here. This style of gazebos looked elegant and spacious, while providing the desired relief from the beating rays of the sun. Won’t it be nice to just laze around, sipping your favorite drink and enjoy a stress free vacation right in your own garden?

THE WONDERFUL MOMENTS IN LIFE

WONDERFULMOMENTS

There are many moments in our life that got erased from our memories as we grow older and older. Those lost memories would become more obvious when you realize you could not even remember what you had for lunch yesterday. What more your childhood, pre-school, high school, college, university or even your working years? Everyone would have those precious moments that sparkled laughter with full blown happiness but how many of us actually remember well enough to tell our children? Moment by moment, day by day, month by month and year by year, those memories became clear marks in our life. Do all of us have records of all those precious and colorful moments of our lives?

There are 3 must have gadgets in life that I would not forgo – computers, digital cameras and camcorders. With the advancement in technology, more and more of these gadgets had become affordable for many families. Parents had begun to realize the importance of preserving the memories of their children in whatever media they could get their hands on. Frankly speaking, I could not remember much of my carefree childhood years although I had some photographs taken when I was a child. Those were static images then but now I want my children to have more than that. I want them live in action. Many years down the road, they would look back into their growing up years and remember all the wonderful years they had gone through. These recorded images would remain as their nostalgic moment for them to treasure and to share with their own children.

You would have realized too that I had place computers as one of the main gadget in my life. With internet access, that’s also one important gadget in archiving all the memories in the free online diary or should I say blogs. We have Blogger, WordPress, Blogsome and many more that would allow you to record your daily activities. On top of that, you would have many online photo albums such as Flickr, PhotoBucket, etc, that would allow you to store your photos and videos. For those with camcorders, YouTube would be a great place to store your videos to share with everyone on your unforgettable moments. Isn’t it great to have all the state-of-the-art gadgets to make our lives more memorable?

GREAT TIME FOR SOME SUNBATHING IN THE POOL

Written by crizlai on Jun 22nd, 2009 | Filed under: exercise, health, life, lifestyle, living, rant, tips

POOLCHAIR

With the current El Nino effect in this part of the world causing intense humidity with barely any noticeable breeze, the pool would be the perfect place to cool myself off. I have been doing that a lot recently by soaking myself to the peak each day. It indeed paid off when you have some cool pool furniture around to make life’s a heaven. Can you imagine how relax I was floating above the water while sipping my favorite drink? The wonderful part of the great fun I had was everything was afloat including my water snack buoy. Don’t you think that’s a great way to laze about and yet not having to get out of the pool to get your snack and beverage?

Having the pool furniture to create that ideal and cozy outdoor space have since given me the wonderful pleasure of cooling off and at the same time stayed free from any stress and tension. Instead of incurring more cost for entertainment outdoor, I could have all the enjoyment I want just a few steps away from my home. Moreover, the kickboard float I had made great exercise equipment. I always love to clamp the board between my legs and swim a few rounds as it would help me get the necessary exercise I would need. That’s the best way to utilize as many muscles I have and improve my stamina and overall physique.

I would think my friends would also be interested to join me in this pampered environment. Maybe I would look into getting a black steel charcoal barbecue grill to hold a party as well. I’m sure none of my friends would reject to the idea of having that additional pool furniture. Let’s party everyone!

GETTING YOUR CHILD HOOKED ON MUSIC

PLAYPIANO

It had been said that children are the pillars of our future and they ought to be trained well to face the challenges that await them. Instead of spoiling them to be takers all the time until they had lost their directions to accomplish something great in their lives, they should be guided in their early ages to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge which would be beneficial to them in the future. One good way would be to get them involve in hobbies. Not only would acquiring a hobby help them in their lives, it could even take on a life of their own.

In our ever changing society, there would always be something that we could not see but require our experiences to face them. Surprisingly, such experience could easily be acquired from our childhood years through our involvements in hobbies. You would ask why and how. The reasons are simple. Hobbies can teach a child on the skills of being patient, management, determination, motivation, leadership, accomplishment and so on.

Many parents had the wrong perception that getting a child involved in a hobby might affect their school works and studies. Moreover, it would be a waste of time and money and there would be no future in whatever hobbies they had acquired. You are totally wrong as you had stopped your child’s learning progress unknowingly. You should allow your child some alternatives to find their own interests and grow from there as children are naturally inquisitive human beings.

By sending them to art classes would not mean that they had to be artists having unstable income by the streets. Have you tried thinking out of the box? By doing so you would have helped them a lot in increasing their concentration and determination to get an object drawn perfectly. Moreover, it would also develop their creativity and imagination to look at things from different angles. What about getting them to play piano? Don’t you think they would be more focused and attentive with full concentration if they were to be immersed in such a hobby? Think of the life skills they may acquire for their future and you would be glad that you are part of their future successes.
