Written by crizlai on Nov 10th, 2009 | Filed under: awareness, body, diet, health, lifestyle, rant

To some races in certain countries, having a fatter belly symbolized prosperity. Although a bit cushioned, they still remained gorgeous in the eyes of many within their nationalities. On the other hand, some would categorize these people as being obese. Sexy to them means a size 2 and to be able to wear skin fit clothes that would showcase the shapely body. No matter what, having a fat belly somehow would pose a health threat to a person as they grow older.

A report had shown that there’s an increase in consumption of fat, saturated fat, sugar, salt and clarified butter product such as ghee, especially after the mushrooming of many fast food franchises in many countries. THE CONVENIENCE OF HAVING A NETBOOK AROUND

Written by crizlai on Sep 28th, 2009 | Filed under: internet, lifestyle, netbook, technology

If you walk around many of those places with WIFI access, you would noticed that the laptop those people were using are getting smaller and smaller. These “mini” laptops are called netbooks. It’s a small, light weight, low cost, highly portable, energy efficient alternative to a full sized laptop computer where you can surf the internet, email, internet messaging, play music, stream video online, facebook, twitter, word processing and so on that would not need much resources for as long as 5.5 hours. The most wonderful thing would be the large hard drives storage to store your downloaded files.

If you are a hardcore online gamer playing high end video games or even a designer who required high end resources for processing graphical images, you can forget about owning one. This would not be the type of handy equipment for you as the screen would be smaller, thus everything else inclusive the typeface, keys on the keyboards would be smaller too due to its miniature size. Moreover, there would not be any inbuilt drives for you to transfer data unless you purchase other peripherals such as portable drives or a higher storage pendrive.

Netbooks are suitable for those students, travelers or business persons who love its portability and the light weight to carry around for light tasks. These netbooks are fast gaining trend as it’s much cheaper than a normal laptop. There are many netbooks manufacturers such as ASUS, Samsung, HP, Acer, MSI and so one on the market and you can source for one easily based on your budget and requirements. I’m going to get one soon for my business convenience. Are you planning to follow suit too?

BRIGHTENED UP YOUR HOME WITH GLASS TILES

ROOMDECO

After staying at the same house for many years, most homeowners would be hankering for a new look to freshen up the whole place. What would you do when you are living in a space constrained house and would want it to look like a lavish mansion without making any structural changes to its original layout?

There are many ways of making your dream come through by using the minimal approach of combining silver colored paint with some sand plywood furniture. Both compliment each other real well. Door and window frames can be painted silver to blend in with some silver blinds to give that soft lighting approach which would be most effective in defining the architecture of space.

By using a mix and match of pastel colors plus simple furniture of a sandy feel, your whole place would be turned into a sanctuary of your own. Using a few varieties of glass tile would give your home the additional sparkles to portray a sense of tranquility and eventually brighten up your days after a hard day’s of work.

THE SIGNS OF OLD AGE

OLDAGE

You felt your whole body is like tearing apart with squeaking sound here and there, as if it’s a worn out machine. Every part that works in your body hurts and those that don’t are practically useless. The next thing you would realize would be you consuming more pills than food. Your mind may want to do something but normally your body won’t cooperate. They don’t calibrate with each other well.

You thought you can still enjoy life by the beach as you would when you were twenty years old but the rays from the sun kept making your bifocal lens hurt your eyes. You used to bring your girlfriends to the beach to have a great time. Now it’s not your children but your grand children. That’s another sign of old age.

It’s really frustrating when you know all the answers such as how to stay healthy at such an age, what’s the best diet around or even ways to get the best wrinkle cream to make you look years younger but nobody bothers to ask you the questions. Time may be a great healer but it also had the reputation of being a lousy beautician. Unless you know how to turn back time or know what’s the best necessities for your age, it’s just another dull boring day in your life. I don’t think that would be what most of us would want in life. We should be having the best in our life even though we have time to fight with.

TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT?

BBQSEAFOOD

You were standing in a barbeque line to get to your food. You spotted something good and the aroma coming from the stove kept your tummy yearning for more of those hot and spicy, not forgetting oily seafood platters. Those fish could well be safe for your diet as they are low in fat and high in protein but the method of preparation was a bit risky. There were spices and coconut milk in them. Grilling might sounds good but the amount of carbon accumulated might tarnish your health. You paused. You contemplated whether to follow the queue or to quit. Awww… those clams, mussels, scallops, shrimps and squids were too good to resist! There goes your diet plan. You lost your battle against your temptation to savor those fat-rich food again. Isn’t this what happened to us when we were trying to scale down our weight?

Well, there’s the good and evil in that. The good part would be that you have the best weight loss supplements to burn out all the fat that you had gained. The evil part would be that you just do not heed your health at all and fall into the obese category. Under a prediction by the World Health Organization, there would be about 2.3 billion overweight adults in the world by 2015 and more than 700 million of them will be obese. That’s an alarming figure, thus something has to be done to create the awareness on obesity before more people are down with obese related complications.

Obese related illness can be quite fatal. They include high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes type 2, congestive heart failure, heart diseases, stroke, gallstones and gallbladder disorders, gout, osteoarthritis, cancer, pregnancy complications, female reproductive health and so on. On top of that, there would also be the psychological disorders which would trigger depression, eating disorder and low self esteem due to unbalanced figures. Won’t it be better if we were to stay fit and healthy instead?
