HAVING YOUR OWN BUSINESS

As my friend was saying, working for someone could sometimes be very frustrating. All the time he has to listen to commands and has no mind of his own. He was thinking of quitting his job but then how would he survive without a stable income? Although his job designation was rather easy but it had become so routine that he is beginning to feel real bored. He wanted more life in his job than to follow that so-called one way communication the company was running its business.

He thought of setting up his own home business but was quite indecisive on what type of businesses he could venture into. There were just too many options. Should he venture into the information technology sector which he has some paper qualifications in? It might just go back to the same boring routine again.

He loves to eat and try out many different types of food. What would his choice be, having to choose from amongst Asian, Western, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Bulgarian, German, and Swiss cuisines? There are again so many varieties around the market place. He is getting really confused on what would be his ideal choice now.

Jumping into any business would be easy. It is just the fear of not getting any responses that is scaring him off. He will need an experience person to guide him. Who should that be then?

I'm thirsty for a drink now. Would you be kind enough to treat me?

PAMPERING YOUR CHILDREN WITH GREAT BEDROOMS

Written by crizlai on Oct 20th, 2008 | Filed under: bedroom, children, home, living, rant

The days of painting the bedrooms colorful with basic interior decorations no longer would amuse the children of today. With all the easy access channels such as the Disney Channel, Nickelodean and Cartoon Network, the children of today rather link their bedrooms to their favorite characters. What would you do as the parents of the modern generations? Would you spend thousands of dollars to renovate their bedrooms for the sake of love or would you just make do with your available resources to spruce up their bedrooms?

As for me, I would choose the latter as it would save up a large amount during this present economy downturn. All you need to do is to spruce up the place with a new coat of paint or wallpaper, preferably as how your child’s cartoon character colors would look like. With a little bit more of creativity, you would be able to turn their bedrooms into another Disneyland.

For instance, if your child is into Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, you might want to blend in yellow wallpaper with some orange furniture and some easy to make frames on the wall. It would not cost much too by getting all those items. So, put on your thinking cap now and start creating something that your child would like to have.

WHAT IS COOKING THIS HOLIDAY?

With a successful turnout for the second Penang Food Bloggers (Floggers) Meet at Edelweisse Café on 27 September 2008, the organizing committee had decided to hold another gathering some time in the month of December. That would be the time where all the jingles and jangles of the Christmas bells would be heard. I was anxious about the next gathering until I found out that it might be a potluck gathering.

The first thing that came into my mind was what should I prepare for the gathering that would impress the guests? I was digging into my recipe collections trying to figure out what would be the ideal dish but I was lost. Everything was Oriental and would have to be taken with some rice. I needed something that would be light and easy to consume without the hassle of using fork and spoon or even a knife. I will need some finger food.

After stretching my brains out, I thought why not I have some holiday appetizers since we would be having Christmas just around the corner. The appetizer should be something to set the mood of the gathering to be happy, joyous and merry. Now I’m contemplating whether to have some Sweet Potato Pecan Tarts or Chipotle Shrimp Cups. Maybe I should have some salty items instead. What do you think?

MY DREAM HOLIDAY IN LAS VEGAS

Although the major attractions in Las Vegas are the casinos, I’m more interested in experiencing the lifestyle of the 32nd most populated state of the USA. Can you imagine being in a place where there would be buildings lighted up every night time? One of the places I would love to visit would be the Fremont Street Experience which is a major tourist attraction and a pedestrian mall in down town Las Vegas, Nevada. Another place which would be interesting would be the Neon Museum which would display old neon signs of Las Vegas casinos as far back as 1940.

There would also be concerts and light shows occasionally. I hope I can get to see one and experience the millions of LED lighted canopy within the FSE. Now there are so many hotels with thousands of room in them for me to choose from. Which of these hotels should I choose? I guessed I would just chose one Vegas hotel that would suit my basic needs as I would surely be busy snapping shots of the surrounding area all the time.

I also found out that there would be the Neonopolis which would form the east end of the pedestrian mall, where Las Vegas Boulevard South meets Fremont Street. This is definitely a place I would visit. Who would want to miss out a $100 million open-air restaurant, shop and entertainment complex with a 14-screen Galaxy Theaters movie theater? As the date for my vacation is drawing nearer each day, I better start packing my luggage now for a fun-filled experience.

I WOULD JUST LAY DOWN THERE

Do you believe that home theater systems, furniture, flooring and carpeting were created for some reasons? Yes, they are to make your life more comfortable especially after a hard day’s of work? Coming back from work and indulging yourself into your own created living room settings should be something you would like to look forward to each day.

Since living room is the place for your total comfort and relaxation, you should take note of what would be the ideal combination. As for me, I would love to relax by watching some movies on my home theater set. The first thing I would do would be to slumber onto the nearest comfortable furniture I could find regardless of where they would be. Thus, I had the floor lined with some home theater carpeting and some bean bags. Not only did these simple setting suits my personal taste of freedom, it also allows wide seating space because I would never know who else might just drop by for a visit.

There are many books and magazine that would suggest the ideal looks, styles and selection for your living room but I would always like the idea of simplicity. I would surely not sacrifice comfort for style. After all, who would not want to be in a comfortable and relaxing ambience after a hard day’s of work?

I'm thirsty for a drink now. Would you be kind enough to treat me?
